National Autism Project
National Autism Project came to us having seen and admired our work for the charity Autistica. They needed to produce a report to showcase the recommendations arising from a three-year research project into the diagnosis of autism and the most effective interventions for autistic people and their families. While primarily aimed at funders, policy makers and decision makers such as NHS England, Health Boards and MPs, we sought to make the document highly accessible – and it proved to be so popular that it had to be reprinted twice. We also designed and produced pull-up banners for the original launch event.
What we did
Design for the 120-page report, original illustrations, pull-up banners, print management, commission of the Welsh language translation and design adaptation for this longer-text version
A key aspect of this project was the development of illustrations that had to be both engaging and useful as an easy-to-read summary of the key recommendations. We also had to accommodate a huge volume of text, including academic references, which needed to be placed very accurately to aid understanding. In addition, the whole project had to be achieved with no brand identity (beyond a letterhead and logo) to draw from.
